Eye of the hurricane
I've retasked this blog for my travels
I'm a tightly-contained whirlwind of excitement, bustling around my apartment, assembling the last few things for the trip.
My pack has more than enough space for the paltry few belongings it turns out I need for 2 weeks in Asia, and now I'm just dealing with the specifics of how to arrange them. I have to leave for the airport rather early tomorrow morning though, so I shouldn't take too much longer before high-tailing it to bed. I'd like to be good and tired by the time I get on my plane so I can sleep, spend a day (basically) awake on the plane, and arrive in Bangkok (at 11:25pm) tired enough to sleep again.
Nadav, Anya, and I will then catch a plane to the island of Koh Tao, where I will suffer through the rest of my jetlag safely ensconced in a beach hammock. I can hardly wait.
I've got more drawing and writing materials than I could possibly exhaust on this trip, even should I do nothing but sketch and write the entire time (these sound like fateful words..), and we've got far more planned than that.
For now, let me just say that it's an odd thing to pack for two weeks with less than 3 pairs of pants, but this is, in fact, what I'm doing. (I'm planning on shopping for tailored clothes in Bangkok, the second time I'll ever have done so.) It feels like I'm bringing more electronics than clothes (of course, knowing me, this isn't quite as unusual as it sounds), but each of the items I've packed has a definite and potentially important use.
Now for the last minute transfer of travel budget to checking, paying of bills in advance, and last few bits of packing.
Tomorrow--> 17.16 hours of flight!
